Requirement wording

SHALL Requirements containing the verb “shall” are mandatory and have to be followed without any exception.

SHOULD Requirements containing the verb “should” are strongly recommended; the justification of non-compliance is mandatory.

WILL Requirements containing the verb “will” are provisions or intentions.

MAY Requirements containing the verb “may” are guidelines; the justification of non-compliance is not required.
